The Slow Mail Society is a sole proprietorship and the billing entity for a family of mail-based brands. These terms govern every subscription and product sold through our shared account. By subscribing to or buying from any of our brands, you agree to these terms. Each brand's full product details and pricing live on that brand's own site.

Who you're buying from

All subscriptions and products are sold and billed by The Slow Mail Society through a single Stripe account, regardless of which brand's letters or benefits you receive. A charge on your statement will read for the individual brand (the account descriptor is SLOW MAIL SOCIETY). The brands are Dear Future Self, The Reindeer Post, the Slow Mail Society membership, and Mail Club Hub. Kits sold on Etsy are processed by Etsy, not through this account.

Billing and renewal

  • Recurring by default. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis, monthly or annually depending on the plan you choose, and renew automatically until you cancel.
  • The price you see is the price you pay. The exact amount, currency, and billing frequency are shown at checkout before you confirm.
  • Payments. Card processing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Gift cards. Mail Club Hub gift cards are a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and are delivered by email.

Refunds and cancellation

  • Cancel anytime. You can cancel any subscription at any time, either from your account's self-service billing (for the Slow Mail Society membership, from your desk) or by writing to us through our contact page. Tell us the email you signed up with and we will find your subscription.
  • What happens when you cancel. Your access or delivery continues through the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. For the mailed-letter clubs, any letter already produced or posted for the current cycle still arrives.
  • Refunds. The current billing period is generally non-refundable once it has begun, because letters are hand-produced and digital benefits are delivered right away. But if something has gone wrong, a duplicate charge, a billing error, or a letter that never arrived, write to us and we will make it right, including a refund or a reship where it is due.

Shipping and delivery

  • Physical letters. Letters from Dear Future Self and The Reindeer Post are hand-produced and mailed on a monthly schedule, typically posted by the 5th of each month. Exact timing for your club is shown on that brand's site.
  • Where we mail. We ship to the United States and internationally. International delivery can take longer, and international pricing is shown at checkout.
  • Digital benefits. Slow Mail Society membership benefits are delivered online and are available as soon as your account is active.
  • Gift cards. Delivered by email.
  • Lost in the post. A letter lost or damaged in transit will be reprinted and resent at no charge. Write to us through the contact page.

Acceptable use

Our lessons, letters, and digital materials are for your personal use. Please do not resell or redistribute them. The Reindeer Post is a parent-facing service: a parent or guardian subscribes on behalf of a child and is responsible for the account, in keeping with our COPPA commitment described in our privacy policy.

For anything about a charge, a cancellation, or a refund, use our contact page and a real person will help. We may update these terms; if a change materially affects existing subscribers, we will notify affected subscribers before it takes effect.
